About the role

As a Bank Healthcare Assistant within Theatres, you will be an important member of the perioperative team, supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Working under the supervision of registered practitioners, you will assist with a range of clinical and non-clinical activities to support the smooth running of theatre services. You will help prepare patients for procedures, maintain a clean and safe environment, support patient transfers, and ensure equipment and supplies are readily available.

You will work closely with colleagues across the theatre department, contributing to a positive patient experience while ensuring high standards of infection prevention, dignity, and patient safety are maintained at all times.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced clinical environment, takes pride in delivering excellent patient care, and thrives as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred care within the theatre environment

• Support patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times

• Assist registered practitioners with clinical and non-clinical duties as required

• Prepare theatre areas, equipment, and consumables to support daily operating lists

• Assist with the safe transfer and positioning of patients in accordance with local procedures

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised clinical environment

• Ensure stock levels are maintained and report replenishment requirements

• Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and best practice standards

• Complete relevant documentation accurately and promptly

• Escalate concerns, incidents, or changes in patient condition appropriately

• Work flexibly to support service delivery and operational requirements

About you

You are a caring and motivated Healthcare Assistant with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. Ideally, you have previous experience working within a hospital, theatre, acute care, or clinical setting and understand the importance of patient safety, confidentiality, and professionalism.

You are confident communicating with patients and colleagues, demonstrating empathy, respect, and sensitivity in every interaction. You have strong organisational skills, pay close attention to detail, and are able to remain calm and professional in a busy environment.

A reliable and proactive team player, you enjoy working collaboratively with others and are committed to maintaining high standards of care and service. Most importantly, you take pride in contributing to a positive patient experience and supporting excellent clinical outcomes.
